Is the Key Map Mode Unique to Live?

Post by gjm » Mon Jan 12, 2009 8:19 pm

Just want to know if this feature is unique to Live.

If not, what other DAWs enable you to use a qwerty keyboard as a controller in this way?

Thanks.

Most of them have some way of allowing you to use the computer keyboard to input notes into the piano roll. From there a few will allow you to assign MIDI note messages as controllers, but it usually takes some in depth knowledge of the program, and a bit of time setting it up.
As far as i know the simplicity of how live is set up to do this is unique.
