Is there anything that would stop you from buying live 8?

I don't need anything else at the moment.

However, I will only buy Live 8 if it offers something pretty amazing as I'm well happy with 7 ATM.

A global financial crisis and job uncertainty? Oh, wait...

Edit: Nah, not really. Pretty much exactly what Olly said! :)

details of cubase 5 are starting to come out so i might upgrade sx2 depending on live8 details. there are a lot of things that need sorting out and if live8 doesn't then i wont be upgrading.

I would have been in the 'buy whatever' camp until very recently, but this week I've been thinking it over and it really does depend on their being some killer new features. Particularly functions for people like me who do most of their work with audio loops rather than MIDI.

That said, being able to crossfade in the arrange view, better 'live looping' functions, and an extension of racks to some kind of modular set-up with help from C74 could sway me
HARDWARE:
Vaio laptop / M-Audio Transit / Zoom H2 /
Alesis M1 Active 520's / Sennheiser EH2200's
Behringer BCR2000 / misc. instruments & toys

SOFTWARE:
Live 7 / Sound Forge Audio Studio

As tempting as it is to just buy it. I will be holding off until the first few updates are released based on the initial stability of Live 7, but I will upgrade eventually. Well it depends on price. The jump to live suite from live 8 was quite expensive, so it will be interesting to see how much the upgrade prices are going to be.

Hopefully all will be revealed tomorrow :-)

"What would stop you from buying live 8"

Is this a screening test for a job? This would be the reason why I can't buy it!

No money no Live 8. Just canned goods, coffee, gas. electric, rent, phone, internet ...hell I don't even see toilet paper being on the list this week!

Defiantly don't see ableton live 8 on the menu for at least six months.

America is a sad place to be right now. "The American Dream" can't even go to school without hocking off one of your organs, let alone get a job in anything in it. Everyone flips burgers, Everyone works at the Hospital, Everyone sucks.

I'm still vary proud and completely happy with Ableton 7

experience with the bug fixing process during live 5, 6 & 7 will stop me from buying 8 until it's at least ten months old.

Probably just the cost of having to upgrade two 7 suites and two regular versions of live 7 and an operator urgh!

We'll probably just do one of the suites to start with. At least with side-by-side installs I can still use L7 for something if 8 doesnt work.
Nothing to see here - move along!
