Coprock.
please, please, please find this watch it.
as imdb puts it:

""Cop Rock" was part "Real Stories of the Highway Patrol" and part "Sound of Music". After chasing down a criminal, the force would take to the street for an organized dance number, then haul the guy back to HQ."

I wouldn't recommend Electroma unless you want to sit through some arthouse, abstract, student film, and take it from a film student who sat through it strictly for the "learning experience" - it's pretty out there.

+1 to the rest of the list, and add:

Fight Club (Soundtrack by The Dust Brothers)
Bladerunner (soundtrack by Vangelis)
Juice
2001 (also a tough one to sit through at first, but worth it)
Scratch
Rockers
Thelonious Monk - Straight No Chaser
Modulations (not the most cohesive, but still interesting)
Better Living through Circuitry
Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii
Portishead - Live at Roseland
Okie Noodling (Soundtrack by the Flaming Lips)
A Scanner Darkly (Soundtrack by Radiohead)
The Rules of Attraction (soundtrack by TomandAndy, and more)
Velvet Goldmine (if you're homophobic, just don't watch it, but if you aren't, it's a pretty good movie)
American Psycho (the soundtrack is great, and Bale/Bateman's fanaticism about music is hilarious)
Chemical Brothers - singles 93-03
Clockwork Orange
The Freshest Kids
Style Wars
David Axelrod Live
Ghost Dog (Soundtrack by the RZA)
Heavy Metal 1 + 2
Magnolia
Punch Drunk Love
Science of Sleep

There are some standard movies in that list, but they are pretty music driven, although mostly on the indie side.

Daft Punk Interstella 5555, its so beatiful and the music is superslick, best "house" anime musical film ever (are there anymore?)! Electroma also by Daft Punk is not nearly as good.

+1 for Underworld's Everything Everything
+1 for Scanner Darkly
+1 for Control - that still sends shivers down my spine when I think of it

And, if you like the more melodic parts of Underworld, I recommend the film "Sunshine" whose soundtrack is by Underworld and John Murphy, but for some (legal?) reason, the soundtrack hasn't been released on CD. So you have to watch the film, but hey, the music is great.

Danny Boyle films generally have great soundtracks. Check out Trainspotting and The Beach soundtracks if you don't know them already.

I've seen Sunshine - quite liked it actually though I watched it on a plane so I should probably watch again on a decent system (both sight and sound wise).
