Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance, is a 1983 film directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke. the first of three. amazing slow speed photography (things move faster than they really do) with great soundtrack, a real bong warming experience.

The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust - Bowie's last concert as 'the man who fell from the sky' filmed by DA Pennebaker, the best documentarian of all time. Mick Ronson (guitar player) absolutely melts speakers in this one.

Pink Floyd - The Wall - if you haven't seen this, go see it NOW FFS.

24 Hour Party People - life behind the scenes of Manchester in the late 70s into the 90s, based around Joy Division and their manager Tony Little.

It's All Gone Pete Tong - a tarnce DJ goes def and loses his shit.

Fantasia - Disney from the 30s, read the backstory on how/why it was made, pretty incredible. the first surround sound movie ever made, but it was only presented in surround once in some theater in Chicago.

Pump Up The Volume - not the Christian Slater movie, this is a documentary on house music, very very well done, it's available online, easy to find.

Blues Brothers - great cameos, great movie.

Underworld - Everything Everything - them in concert, they rock, GREAT sound.

Monterey Pop Festival - amazing performances by great 60s musicians, really captures that time when white guys starting playing blues and jazz met rock. the full DVD set is hours and hours long.

Spinal Tap - classic movie that nails most of the rock band cliches.

Decline of Western Civilization - documentary on 80s metal and the decline of western civilization.

The Graduate - classic Simon and Garfunkel tunes

Harold and Maude - classic Cat Stevens tunes

Tommy - The Who, another one with great cameos.

The Harder They Come - classic Jimmy Cliff, a highly sampled movie as well.

All the Mornings of the World (Tous les matins du monde) - a man's wife dies but he finds he can summon her ghost by playing his cello alone at night, AMAZING music.

Made In Sheffield - documents the rise of the influential post-punk movement that emerged from Sheffield in the late 70s, defined by the electronic pop of The Human League, Cabaret Voltaire, Heaven 17 and ABC.

Wow! Thanx everybody that should keep me busy for a while, lots of them I haven't seen. The Woodstock documentary is pretty cool. So funny to hear people say "cats" and "far out man"

Oh another one, Blade Runner, one of my favourite ever movies, I generally hate Vangelis, but somehow the Blade Runner soundtrack is just perfect! Those eerie glissandi up and down are done by changing the delay time on the Roland Space Echo.
