Though looking at it, I'm not sure about the crossfader's close proximity to the rather small transport buttons.

About as impressed with Ableton right now as after demo'ing Live for the first time. Feels like it's going to be a great year.
I wonder if some of the Monome/Live software stuff will work with this, in any case the potential for similar stuff is all there.

as for 'monome stuff', see the above quote, the monome apps can be ported. also, the monomes don't have tri-color LEDs.

finally. i really didnt think it would take so long for a major to make a clip controller. it also speaks a lot of Live's influence on the current DAW market.
do we assume OSC support? will it be properly hackable? the padkontrol could have been so much more if Korg opened it up.
the only downside is how close the X fader is to the transport buttons, the knob might have to go for non DJ sets!

Just read the stuff on the Akai site.
Firstly, I am now EVEN MORE excited! It just sounds perfect. Blows the Vestax thing out of the water.
Secondly, it has a metal chassis which suggests a higher cost than the MPD32.

I'm more excited about an open ended MIDI toolkit with OSC support that seamlessly integrates with Live. Glad that my gut was right on this, and hope MAX FOR LIVE is reasonably priced!
