Perhaps the Monome / MIDIBox and other DIY avenues get empowered by new Abe products. They generate demand for a very unique style of controller by putting it in the hands of more people. Especially with Max for Live, I'm sure people are brainstorming already about a lot of small-ish projects (DIY, commercial, free, whatever). It's really exciting to think about all the possibilities.

On second thought, $800 is way too high... for that money you can buy dedicated hardware, such as a second hand SP-12 or even something modern like a used MC-909, along with a nice midi controller.

This should come in around $400 - $500 in order to sell. The MPC-500 is now only $5oo!

...it's the new BCR baby... only built by Akai... which is better...and sexier...
I have a feeling it's a very flexible. unit..midi wise..
it looks like a quality product....
if the price is right ... recession and all...
