Finally, a Max for Live extension for the newly announced Akai APC40 transforms the buttons on the hardware controller into a step-sequencer-style editor for Live MIDI clips.

Devices created in Max can be shared with Ableton's new web collaboration features.
Interesting.

At this rate all the Ableton NAMM news will have been leaked by their partners by the time they get round to announcing anything themselves.

Max for Live will introduce a Max-based API for controlling and extending Live itself through the live.object, live.path, and live.observer objects.
i'm assuming this means the LiveAPI project will no longer be necessary? stoked for the possibilities

Does this all mean now, that even those (like me) who own already MAX/MSP, will still be charged for this Max for Live add on? Yes, it does. Damn.

good question. My ADD is at full blast today and I haven't been able to finish reading a single sentence before switching to another tab, but from the quick scans I've done, I haven't seen any info regarding this.

Would be nice to at least get a discount if we own both pieces of software

well,i guess i'm not going to buy the mackie control universal pro at all now,not with this AMAZING(to say the least)news from akai, ableton and cycling 74
.this could transform ableton into something it should have been a long time ago,in a galaxy far far away......
if you could customize live totally to suit your OWN individual needs, then they have my vote for best innovation since the creation of the Universe.......
