I think there is little doubt that Ableton steals the show at NAMM, wish I was there.

Are the Abes partying hard today? Is there a paypal link where we can invite drinks for the Abes, or is it all work over there??

Oh,

press shift and up to transpose +12 semitones

I'm easily pleased, I know.

In no paticular order...

Shift + arrow - transposes the notes by an octave.
Notes display note values.
Group/folder tracks.
Track colors.
Groove.
New warping.

Well, pretty much every new feature that's included. I LOVE IT! :)

New warping... :D

But waiting to see how good it really is before getting too excited (better transient detection, please...)

No sign of a pro-quality algorithm for mixdown though... :?

Was that in reference to my point about mixdowns?

I'm very glad to see Elastique Pro, but I have some reservations about whether that negates the need for an offline algorithm.

Presumably a clip would have to be using Complex as its Warp mode to be exported using Elastique Pro. And for real time working, I imagine that Complex isn't always going to be the best mode - if only to save on CPU. So it's likely that some clips will be set to, say, Beats and would therefore be exported using that algorithm instead. What we really need it to be able to use an efficient algorithm when working in real time, and a pro-quality algorithm when exporting a mixdown. Without having to change the mode for each clip each time...

Also is Elastique Pro really as good as a typical DAW's offline algorithm?

128+ midi parameters
Group tracks
Updated MIDI editor (probably - I sure hope they've added multiple MIDI clip transpose!)
Updated Operator looks tasty.

I have a few questions about the looper...

Is each pass able to be rendered separately?
Can each pass have its own FX applied?
Is it Cell based?
Does the first pass set the default for the subsequent passes? For example, if the first pass is a two bar loop, is the second able to be three or five?

I am imagining it to work a bit like impulse(for want of a better analogy) in that every layer has its own unique controls...
Maybe???

you are a bit off in imagining how it works.

is each pass able to be rendered separately?

Each pass adds to the buffer, so you can't "unravel" it later. You could simply record the raw audio to the same track though (or one in the same group)

Can each pass have its own effect added :
If I understand you right; yes - the feedback path can be intercepted and you can put effects in that path.

is it cell based
no

Does the first pass set the default for the subsequent passes? For example, if the first pass is a two bar loop, is the second able to be three or five?

that's pretty weird. If you record 2 bars what would happen in the empty bar 3?
you can double and halve the buffer. so if you record 2 bars, you can doublt to 4, 8, 16 etc. and then halve back down if you like

I am imagining it to work a bit like impulse(for want of a better analogy) in that every layer has its own unique controls...
Maybe???

you are imagining yourself getting MaxforLive then ;)

think of this like a very very long delay, with some tricky reversing controls and a facility to extract what is in the delay buffer and mess with it.
