I always thought those in-flight safety instructions were a waste of time - what are the chances of the plane hitting the water and still surviving? Lesson duly learnt.

More specifically, bird strike.
It's a miracle that everyone survived. It's even more of a miracle that the airplane made it from Laguardia Airport all the way across Manhattan so that it touched down in the water rather than in midtown Manhattan.
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

Yeah thank god.
That is dangerous though, a flock of birds could do that.
Maby they have to get to work on an engine that will totaly shred the birds into millions and not have to worry about clogin up the engine.

Must have been a whole flock, I heard it did for both engines.

My girlfriend's boss was ON THE PLANE. He was able to call his wife when they were rescued. Pretty amazing stuff!
Today was a bitterly cold New York day. It's never a nice day to go swimming in the Hudson, but today would be an especially bad day to do so.
Vibes remained positive in an amazing day!
