I bought Live one month ago; did i screw myself?

Post by DJdune » Sat Jan 17, 2009 2:41 am

So I registered Live 7 on December 7th. Am I going to get Live 8 for free? I'm having trouble finding a conclusive answer on the site...if anyone knows it would probably save me some peace of mind until Monday when the customer care office opens again.

Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing, I just upgraded a month ago.

I don't think those policies apply to upgrades though, not to mention I have an EDU license, so I don't think I have anything coming.

In your case, a new purchase, it's hard to say. Might be a no-go, since the actual release date is so far out. But who knows, Ableton is a pretty cool company.

Best bet is to see what customer care says.

Unlikely.

But didn't you get it at a discounted price, or with a free add on?

Probably not.....the whole point of such a deal is to convince new buyers to join the program, not to reward those who already decided to join, even be it only a month ago.....I bought live7 suite around thanksgiving time, so i feel your pain, but it looks like we're out 229 or whatever it is for the upgrade.....

Not sure when exactly you bought it, but:

If you bought Live 7 (full) between November 27 and December 31, you should have received a $100 discount: http://www.ableton.com/holiday-special

Anyone who purchased Live between September 1 and October 31 has received a free Operator: http://www.ableton.com/free-operator

Yes, 149 is the current upgrade price from Live 4 to 7. If you wait until Live 8 is released, your upgrade will cost 199 EUR (Live 4 to 8 ).

For detailed pricing information, please refer to our automatic price calculator in the online shop section or contact customercare@ableton.com if you have any questions.
