Couldn't agree more with Geebag (@Geebag; u a Dub?)
Can't stand folk being negative.
Perhaps that is a shortoming on my part.
But to the moaners; on a very logistical level only, even if u hate the idea of 8 and want Ableton to inplement a whole different Live9 - moaning at people who have just finished a good job which was hard work does not persuade them to continue working hard, or to do so again in the future.
By all means be honest and direct, but be nice, positive, encouraging and remember that u are not the only person who uses Live.

That's all fine - and there is a fully functional downloadable demo too. However, in any software there are always going to be bugs and feature requests and as competitors software evolves, so we want Live to evolve too. I have been with it since Live 6 and I love it. But there are still things I wish it would do that can be done in other DAWS that Live doesn't feature yet, although it's less of a biggie for me as I can always use my other software to bridge those gaps.here's an idea.. why don't all of you who aren't happy not buy it. great idea huh? let's put Ableton out of business!! and then we'll never get what YOU want. brilliant bunch we have here. Ridiculous!!!
Getting into Live was the best thing I did. I still feel that and I cringe at the way Steinberg handles it's customers, but I feel like I still need to keep Cubase on hand for some things. And if everyone just fawned over Ableton all the time (I fawn 99% of the time), they would have no incentive to develop the product at all, nor realize some of the wishes of their clientele. Fortunately, they are a company that relies on their customers and welcomes communication. Most companies do not public beta test. Most don't apologize for stuff that goes wrong (such as the printer breaking down and people having to wait on their Live 7 manuals on first release) and they offer tokens of their support in soundsets, free sounds, vouchers and so on.

I agree... we nagged and we got...in order to develop ...knotkranky wrote:to the OP
Why you're bitching about "people shouldn't be bitching" is beyond me.
Abes doesn't needing anything from me other than my money(positive affirmation) and my bitching(my influence).
Just about everything you like about Live has come from bitching.
?
Ableton needs to know it's customers needs...
especially if there's a new version every year...

so does reading your own post do it?bendybones wrote:For sure Abes need feedback and requests but there are nice adult ways to communicate those things to the Abes... and then there are cringy, spoiled-child, tantrum ways to do it.
I'm happy that the vast majority of people opt for the former.
But the few others turn my stomach.
if so....
you might be caught in an infinite loop !
have I been coming to the same forum? Maybe it's just because I only clicked on the threads I was interested in, but I seem to have somehow missed all of this - my impression of this announcement so far has been that it was the best received in a long timesteved wrote:... I got the same impression. Not that I blame people for the constructive criticisms that they have had, but again it's a matter of how you convey said criticism. Case in point, I was kidding around with some other posters about the Live release being something sexual, and someone came in and accused us of being "lemmings going over the cliff," and how he "literally gagged" at our admittedly silly posting. Seemed like a pretty extreme reaction to a light-hearted thread, but I guess you get all types of personalities rearing their heads when a big announcement is made on a forum.forge wrote:have I been coming to the same forum? Seriously. My buddy is the program director for one of these 'Digital Arts' colleges, and he says the problem lately is that there's a huge flux of 'entitled' students who feel everything should be handed to them![nis] wrote:Nice attitude guys.3dot... wrote:I agree... we nagged and we got...in order to develop ...knotkranky wrote:to the OP
