Remote SL + APC40 > peaceful coexistance?

I noticed a few people are getting ready to sell their SL Zero's due to the APC40's imminent release.

I have an SL61 and love it as my master keyboard. I'm curious to know if the SL(in Automap mode) will play nice with it's expectant baby brother, the APC40? Obviously we won't know until they're hooked up side by side.

Damn, I almost forgot the step son, padKONTROL, who gets along fine with the SL.

It will be an interesting first day of Kindergarten when the time comes.....

I was looking at my remote SL and wondering myself, but the APC40 looks like a live-performance tool first and a studio tool second. Live obviously blurs the two things very well though.

How do you use your SL at the minute, automap universal for plugins or the ableton automap? (I find if I switch between them I get a **wait** message and then they both stop working)

I think i'll hold off on the APC at least until some bright sparks start turning out MFL patches to make it do stuff I cant live without.

Doesn't anybody still see a need for keyboards to use with their synthesizers?

Gosh, the APC40, could have been an all in one solution, but it fell short in that aspect.

Surely, even the Ableton instruments, can use a keyboard.

I'm very interested in the new MAUDIO Pro line of Axioms....

They look radical. I'd love to combine those, with an APC40, but I'm only getting the APC, after I read several success stories.

What I'm really concerned, is that the new Axiom Pro line, does not list Ableton as a supported DAW. It does however list Cubase, ProTools, and Logic.......

Something is strange here. Has Ableton gone about and decided not to support anything but controllers from their partners?

I'd be a little upset.

I'm definitely interested in keyboard controllers, as well as DAW controllers....

I have a Remote SL25, which I mainly use in the studio (because I can't find a decent carrying bag for it and it's bulky). I may sell it to get an APC40 and also get a very simple midi keyboard with no or few midi controls on it. If I were wise enough then to get a Remote Zero and a separate midi keyboard....

Another alternative would be to keep the Remote and buy a Monome.

I'm keeping my Sl and my nocturn to do what they do best (plugin controls and keyboard, especially with automap 3.0 coming out that lets me use them both together) and replacing my Zero with the APC for live gigs

Funnily enough, I just bought a Remote Zero.

It's going to take a while to get my head around all the stuff involved.

bad experience with the axiom 49... hope your "pro" experience goes better for you guys.

I have a remote zero now and it's great. I still use axiom for inputting notes. I have PK as well. Should be all set... All i need now is APC40 and a Lemur.

Ya know, to compliment my iTouch.

As soon as I saw the APC40 video, I turned to my girlfriend and told her I'd be selling a few things (namely the Zero) to make room. I have an obsession with controllers, you see. Not a single one does anything other than transmit midi, but I love them all, and I just want to add more. It's not that I don't think the two can live together, but I think it'll be harder for my baby and I to live together, If you know what I mean. ;)

I was able to abstain from purchasing a monome, though I live outside Philly where they're made and love MLR and other patches that have been built for it. I'd like to think that through MaxForLive, the APC will be capable of crossing that line between clip launcher to moderately priced MonomewithSlidersandKnobs. 8O

Well, my MPD 32 gets along with my Remote 37SL.

I had a trigger finger, but that didn't get along with the MPD.
