yo rabbit to answer your question, I wanna hear more traditional instrumentation in hiphop ie: accoustic drums, organ, flute, piano, accoustic bass and guitar. I want to hear less stuttering that's not innovation that's a speech impediment and I want to hear less fuckin reverb and less compression, I'd like to hear some mpc-ship reworking what the band was doing on the last song for the next song

oh yeah and as far as other types of rapmusic goes i'd like whomever has to keep it

I am really looking forward to what Melodyne does to hip-hop.

I am intrigued with what a production mastermind can do using it to take the sample apart, change the chords, and pitch up and down w/o changing the length.

I suspect this will lead to a new way of looking at hip-hop sampling.

no doubt sampling period but I think more electronic artist are into software tnan hiphop artist so they will probably lead the way, I know one thing though alot of folks are going to be able to take their sample libraries and easily turn them into anything, people who love loops like madlib and daftpunk should rejoice with glee

dude I dont think anyone uses melodyne much in hip hop NOW. its all sample cutnpaste, nothing fancy like like pitchshifting time stretching reorganization of entire melodies. hip hop is generally the laziest and easiest stuff to produce

We need more pitch correction, more Little John going "YEAH" in every song, there needs to be a huge ass clothed only with a g-string on every album cover, there should be a choice of gold or platinum grillz with every cd purchase, oh, and P Diddy should be president, replacing George Washington with Biggie on the one dollar bill.

Actually, I've been listening to Lord Quas the last few days, and it is my honest opinion that Madlib's first album is better than all of the top 40 rap that's come after it. Also been digging Def Jux the last few days, too - the Cold Vein and Fantastic Damage are some of the best hip-hop I've ever heard, and The Cold Vein is still fresh and awesome every time I hear it.

[Verse 1:]
Sharks in the dunk tank, vipers in the garden
Locusts stole the groceries out the local Farmer's Market
All God's critters hold positions
Some are violent, some are victims
Each alive is an equal and vital piston I support
So when the piranhas honor New York
My daddy long legs dangled and mangled for sport
And while I bring in every dink in the kingdom with open wings
It all boils down to them shit-soaked pigs
The pigs, the pigs, the dregs of what y'all aim for
The gluttonous muddy stomachs under the pudgy cakehole
Two-track braniac using the food and payroll
To chew up and consume every cookie, crumb, and peso
And place a cloven hoof on the lucrative when convenient
As the bourbon-odor smokers' coughs smolder off the Cohiba
If Noah had the benefit of hindsight on his ship
He could've snatched two unicorns and left behind the motherfucking...

[Chorus:]
Pigs!
God damn... pigs!
Potbelly... pigs!
Punch-drunk... pigs!
Take money, money... pigs!
Loudmouth... pigs!
Wide load... pigs!
Let's make a deal...

[Verse 2:]
When all the wolves in woolly wigs
Have huffed, and puffed, and blew the bricks
The skulls of Brooklyn's cruelest pigs
Will rain on Fulton's newest kicks
As mulish swine of all surrounding counties sniff the gruesomeness
We pass around the pineapples and pull the pins in unison
I will gladly feed you to the breed who wants you sacrificed
No pagan or sacrilege, just bacon for scavengers
I will gladly seat you with the chickens, not the passengers
Hopefully the crack in his armor spreads to his avarice
Never that, Wilburs multiply quicker than triples
And hunt their truffles in fistfuls, but it was all bells and whistles
Bougie this and Bougie that...
War pig or pussy cat...
Glitzy to the pork ribs, had to gold-leaf the booby traps
Powder-pink, double-breasted, mess of mud and money
Waddle off the fire to make his stubborn tummy wroggle
And while I don't really know the working details of your tribes
I know that that's one ugly fucking tie

[Chorus:]
Asshole... pigs!
God damn... pigs!
Potbelly... pigs!
Punch-drunk... pigs!
Take money, money... pigs!
Loudmouth... pigs!
Wide load... pigs!
Let's make a deal...

[Verse 3:]
Apple in his mouth, Maraschino eyes
Party like the butcher boy's cleaver is alive
I mosey into sixteen hours of smoke in the misty winter
To see the county fair's blue ribbon winner as dinner
Then dance until the sun has kissed your blisters in the morning
As the misery was dormant and digging in crispy portions
Corporates fund, allure 'em, and they whore 'em
Or does he whore to corporates to expand the more important forums for 'em?
Push the mortar pestle past the ordinary orchard
When the frilly border's faded is the product mine or yours, pig?
Mine, plus I toss a token where I go:
Directly to the worms who shovel shit and yellow snow
This little piggy went to the market with a target
And will subsequently know the armor-piercing forks of farmers
Final words for the finer birds taking notes:
I dig a chicken pig tills, "That's all Folks! "

[Chorus:]
Pigs!
God damn... pigs!
Potbelly... pigs!
Punch-drunk... pigs!
Take money, money... pigs!
Loudmouth... pigs!
Wide load... pigs!
Let's make a deal...

while i'm here let me see if i can get this thing back on track for you mrs.bunny and still respond.
I think hiphop would be more innovative if people who like certain artist knew who those artist idolized, were influenced by, learned from, hiphop is an artform that needs to have it's history brought with it because to many people know about it but know nothing about it and it's chiefly for that reason that other genres of rap outside of hiphop are in the state they are in today. So it's always cool to be inspired by this one and that one but the important thing is who was it that inspired them, the more people who learn these things the less cycle of rubbish there will be and less exploitation.

us non hiphop musicians are so clever but seriously i agree with what someone said about use of more traditional instruments but then sampled and rearranged live with hardware that sounds like a great idea, lots of risk that would lead to happy accidents but I'd also like to hear really old vintage
analog synth work in the tapestry. oh goody.

o0o wrote:don't worry about gangsterism and such we're talking about hip-hop not rapmusic, leeds I would like to see more layering also but with more sampling, I think alot of recent artist have taken samples to alot of new places. i love the production on that cannibal ox album and there was so many samples that I though were not samples, the layering was extremely good i'd like more of that

and then on the other hand I'd like some more sparse boombap music with focus being on talented rappers who have alot of different styles i'm getting weary of the rappers with one steeeeeeeeee
Cann O plus the X love to sex microphones!
