I hardly see how a guy who supports war in Afghanistan and plans on leaving at least 50,000 troops in Iraq, not to mention voted for the Patriot Act and FISA, and the Wall Street bailout is representative of real hope for the US. Yeah, the talk is nice, but once the reality of the BS hits, I doubt most foreigners or a bulk of Americans will be thrilled. So the guy's skin color is different--that doesn't mean there's anything truly progressive about him other than the fact that he's not GW Bush.

the reality is that politics is a gesture of posturing itself and that you can never tell what is going to happen from one moment to the next. Obama has already with-in his first couple of days done more than your post suggest as far as being different from George Bush, I suppose that means that he has suprised you, I would say hold on there might be some more suprises to come. good or bad only Obama can say.

Okay. BO has been in office for two months now. Is there any doubt that this is the most leftist/socialist President the U.S. has ever seen? The level of spending and government expansion under Obama's watch makes Bush look like he's Amish by comparison. The latest Congressional estimates are that his budget will generate deficits of close to One Trillion Dollars a year for the next decade! Article at:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first10 ... lion-year/
And how about all those corporate bailouts? Rewarding inept idiots for their ineptness and greed. And I won't even mention the "stimulus package", which turns out to be mostly pork and paybacks. Spending bills like this have never worked to stimulate the economy in the past; why do they think it will work this time? It won't. And our government is generating tax burdens that the American citizen may never be able to dig out of; not in our lifetimes... welcome to indentured servitude.

Btw, here's a good one- $36 Billion of that $170 Billion in AIG bailout money went to bailing out foreign banks. Article here:
http://www.businessweek.com/the_thread/ ... _fren.html
Let me get this straight. Our hard-earned U.S. tax dollars will be going to bail out foreign banks. Nice. Well, we definitely have BO now. Is this the kind of "change" you guys were looking for?

He's got the most left leaning voting record in the Senate for the very short period he actually voted.

he's so liberal he's for the death penalty and against gay marriage

Sorry, but from his voting record while in the Senate, he is clearly left-wing:

Well, he's slightly to the right of Che Guevara.

But, it's what he has done in the office of President that has removed all doubt in my mind about his leftist agenda. Welcome to the United Socialist Republics of America.

Yup true liberal there.

Also, this poll is silly. I would hope everybody's 'honeymoon' extends to at least a year. You know, when his policies etc. might be in effect?

as MW asked, are you a grieving righty?

see how WE felt for EIGHT FUCKING YEARS!?!?!?!? it sucks, I might suggest screaming into pillows and if you get a projector for a TV you can throw stuff at the POTUS when he appears on screen.

I for one will keep Obama's Leno appearance on my DVR FOR-EVA!!

times would be rough right now no matter who won the election.

No, Tone Deft, I am not grieving. More incredulous than anything else, when I witness the economic and political train wreck taking place right before my eyes. Let's come back in 4 or 8 years and see whether we're better off as a country. Let's see if the economy has recovered and if we're paying less taxes, and have a higher GNP. In the meantime, are there any Dems left to be appointed by Obama who don't owe back-taxes?
