I don't know the price of this, but it may be worth it for the library alone.

well it looks like the only let down is that I see no mention of vst fx which in this day and age is not a worthy omission for any piece of software, of course you don't have to use it in stand alone mode but it really would be something if I could slap on the vst fx I like in stand alone mode.

lastly even though it is an inferior format i wish mp3 was supported, it's funny how mp3 support and vst support our relatively small things and yet still software companys are still trying to hold back something for what I don't know, if they had added these two small things they'd probably have the most complete beatmachine app, and it would probably find it's way on to everyone system.

I still don't know what the price will be, but if it's resonable, I can overlook the vst fx deal.

I'll end up opening in Live anyway. The website says that you could have as many as 99 outputs depending on the host.
Comprehensive mixing and effects processing
Comprehensive graphic mixer with independent channels for all 64 pads and instrument parts
Master mixer with master channel strips plus FX processing for entire banks, instrument racks and aux channels
Stereo main outs plus 16 or more stereo aux channel outputs (up to 99, depending on the host)
Unlimited effect slot architecture for pads, banks, instruments, racks, aux outs and master out
CPU-efficient convolution reverb
Dozens of professional quality effects, including EQ, compressor/gate, filter, delay, reverb, phaser, chorus, drive, distortion and many more

I don't see that as a problem.

that's more than I'd like to pay but I'd rather have this over battery anyday
I think I'm going to have a difficult time not putting this on the credit card.

I just watched the whole demo video. It is pretty impressive.

Live 8 will do most of what it can do. I just want the 15 GB library.

but I think I'll settle for and APC40+MPD...or a padkontrol...
I'm gonna completely change my setup
Yeah I think if you have MFL, you will have some serious fun with an APC and PadKontrol.

Yeah, it was pretty impressive. My first project with L8 and M4L was to close the GURU sequencer / engine section and integrate that with Live. I'm thinking I could do the same with BPM.

hi o0o,

If you check out GURU (and it's "progeny", BPM, and MASCHINE, to a lesser extent), you'll notice that the heart of those programs is the sequencing engine. My plan is to essentially copy that sequencing engine and integrate it within live. I can't really elaborate too much since I don't have Live 8 and M4L yet, but based on all I've read a sequencer shouldn't be that hard to do (especially since a step sequencer is included with M4L). So imagine the sequencer of GURU or BPM integrated with Live.

I've got some other ideas too, like integrating the sequencer with grooves, drum racks, group tracks. But those are more speculative at the moment.

Maschine does look very nice indeed but as nice as it looks I really dont need it. Drum Racks cover all my needs. I currently bash beats out usign the keyboard which has done me fine for years although I am about to order a padkontrol. So maschine is good but it is a bit of a luxury that I dont really need. Ace idea though..

dono... motu's BPM looks more interesting .. mostly for it's real time self sampling features and, if i got it right, it has its own oscillators.. so it synthesise too. the bulky workstation look is a bit of a turn off .
but hell.. i have no more room on my desk and still have to clean up some for the APC

edit>>
HOLD HOLD its SOFTWARE 8O
