lucky Beta testers for Live 8.. initial thoughts?
you can't do that with beta software, it's not finished yet.zigzag wrote:can someone post cpu usage tests ie. loading the same set vs. 7.x.x?
thanks!
in using it I can say by the feel of it, it's no slower than Live 7.

I started looking at it late last night, it seems better than before. I had my machine at 192kHz sample rate to tax it a bit and it seemed to track OK withLoopStationZebra wrote:@Tone:
Were you able to test the MIDI sync any further? I know it's been such a sticking point for folks using 7.
computer -USB-> BCR -midi-> mpc
when I added
computer -USB-> SL25 -midi-> JX305(MC505 an old Roland groove box.)
things got a bit weird, it would speed up and slow down on its own. then I adjusted the midi clock to the SL25 and it was OK.
is it fixed? can't tell yet. it's not completely rock solid, it's not a total complete piece of crap.
it got late and I was weak, I passed out asleep, most non-trimphant.

Someone asked about cpu performance.
I loaded up Tarekith's Live6&7 performance test and got exactly the same results as with Live 7. Of course that only uses simplers and reverbs though.
Still no wat stretch with sampler or simpler like impulse.

LOL, late night MIDI routing. Nothing like it. Thanks. Be great to hear from other folks as well. Never had a problem with the sync myself, and hoping that good fortune continues with 8.

I just tested sync with L8 and my Machinedrum and EMX, and saw pretty much exactly what I was seeing in Live 7. The midi clock offset seems to be staying at whatever I set it to (seemed to randomly change for me before), but I'm still seeing/hearing some slight timing jitter. Nothing huge, but no real improvement over Live7. This is with an Ultralite and the Elektron TM-1 interface.
works like a fucking champ!!nowtime wrote:FiRsT looP Sets tempO

the looper output shows up as an insert for other audio tracks, so you can record the output of the looper as it builds, you can record the input to the track to just get the raw input or you can drag the final loop out of looper into a clip.

spent most of my first night with the beta trying it out.

Coming

How do the group tracks work regarding triggering clip inside them? Looked like their was clips of a weird sort in the group tracks 'master' track, is this just to show its a group track or do these trigger clips inside the groups like scenes?
How does the step sequencing work in the midi editor? (edit: Its okay I just found this thread for it http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=105488 ) Anyone posting audio generated by the ring mod or overdrive?
Thanks in advance guys[/url]
