I have not tried all the ways you can work with groove (have not extracted from audio, only midi so far), but what I have tried works well... just what I would expect!!

i didn't want the vocoder and i was WRONG it is amazing! (For all sorts of filtery effects - doesn't have to vocode.)
The vocorder is sweet! Very flexible... I am no expert on vocorders, but the 3-4 things I tried all sounded very musical and useful...

No more zoom in the upper half of the waveform. That was like Live's "thing" to me, the one thing that made it so quick to use compared to other apps. Especially for Djs that need to warp with precision, it made it very quick to zoom in and out while dropping markers. I know I need to get used to new features, but this is one that really sucks IMO. Now we have two areas in clip view that trigger play back (lower waveform, and timeline) and only a small section for zooming? I'd rather see a preference option for toggling upper waveform for selection or zooming (with the ooposite one possible via shift) versus just dropping zooming altogther.

(Must think happy thoughts, must think happy thoughts, must think...)

The groove tools are excellent!! Waited a long time for this one!!!

Group tracks... seem to work well, not fussy at all and as one expects. Great addition to Live

Midi step record is a much better way to input midi notes. Nicely implemented. A snap to input chords, change note lengths, correct mistakes...

Vocorder is much more interesting than I expected. Finally a limiter in Live!!

Haven't figured out how to use the looper yet

I like the new warping much much more than the old

Crossfades in arrangement are okay... bit finicky and could be improved imo

Adjusting multiple parameters at once... cool!!

being able to choose which of a 3rd party instruments parameters show when you unfold the live device is big improvement

OPE-FUCKIN'_RATOR!

This Operator update kick some ass. It's gnarly factor just about tripled. Custom waveforms, feedback, new filter, filter drive. Sounds great!

Vocoder is good fun as well.

No more zoom in the upper half of the waveform
This needs to be sorted out. I rely heavily on having a big fat area to grab on and zoom in and out for warping, aswell as making loop points etc.

The "top half of waveform" zooming was always one of my favourite parts of Live.

Just missed the beta....

So how about time stretch for Simpler or Sampler so I can have time stretch in Drum Racks??

Yes it does, these sort of changes will keep me from upgrading, some things should be left the way they were....that being said I'll have to wait and check out the beta when it comes round again

My first impression - they put a lot of work into increasing the different ways you can do one thing which is something I have loved about Live, the ability to do 1 thing so many different ways.

The new Operator is great! It's just like the old one, but with more ways to customize your sound yet not any more complicated. Love it!

Don't have Beta yet. What I see in the screenshots multiband dynamics doesn't have a sidechain function. But can you select a single band as input on another track?

Where did you find the beta when the first round for beta tester was still open? On the ableton startpage?
