Yeah, I'm 31 and I remember him being in his 40's when I heard them. They had been around so long at that point already.

Stay sick!

They had an intense live show back in the day. Good music too.

i saw them probably 20 years ago (about the what's inside a girl time i guess?)

i remember him drinking his own weight in whisky on stage, rolling around on the smashed bottles and eating a microphone stand whilst poison ivy just stood there pouting in a fluffy bra like nothing had happened.

How sad!!! I remember seeing Lux n Cramps umpteen years ago too. What a great performer and presence on stage.

Thanks for the heads-up.

From the crazy state of Ohio.... (just like me!)

:x

Sorry about Lux but that guy lived a wild life... the way he wanted to live it so I can't be too sad I guess.

I just read a review of there last tour and Lux actually jerked off on his microphone and then came on it while signing "Love Me!!"

Outstanding. If anything they got even more wild the older they got!

RAAAAPE - Do the hammerlock

I loved the Cramps when they first hit it big in the early 80's but they soon became a parody of themselves.

Still, he had a good innings RIP LUX

I also love that 'Psychedelic Jungle' period. Saw them live just about everytime they played in San Francisco around that time. I used to stand by the side of the stage where Poison Ivy would be grinding away at her guitar while sneering at the audience. Once I was sure that she was sneering right at me. My heart leapt! Thought for a minute she was going to plant that stiletto heel right in my eye!
