I love the music from the Sonic the Hedgehog games (1-3 + sonic & knuckles). Inspiring stuff

I'm partial to the music of Katamari games. It's quirky and fun.

begging to be remade/covered/sampled.

this title track isn't even the best one, there was some amazing almost electro shit in this game.

(ok sorry I'm a bit drunk off Chardonnay... bloody single Valentine's Day /cry)

edit: ok this isn't really the track I wanted but I can't find the other. It was a cover of the original Shinobi theme on a Korg DS10 but I can't find it. oh well. anyways I think all the Shinobi music is funky

Personally...

Streets Of Rage II

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... mb=1&dur=3

by a fucking long shot.

Music composed by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima.
Listening to it reminds me how little talent I have.

IMO

*sigh*

definitely loved the music in streets of rage 2, zelda, ff, sonic the hedgehog (1), ghost n goblins, and bionic commando. classics! there was a band that went and covered a bunch of em. sick musicians too, i think it was a 3 piece. can't remember they're names now.

We are in total agreement. I immediately thought of this game when I saw the thread. Even this track, it sounds like an out-take from Miami Vice or an early Michael Mann film. However, there are certainly better ones in the game levels.
