This site offer ableton live 7 download for 99$ sounds fishy but the price is right... but I want a legit copy that I can register with a serial number. Does this sound right to you?

Its a fair point, getting a crack for free because you cant afford the full cost is much, much, much better than paying some iffy website $99 that should go to the abes.

Even the people who put out the cracks make a point of saying, do NOT make money from selling it on, do NOT use it commercially.

If I was the abes I'd much rather people used a free crack and then bought the software after a few months than let some website take $99 for my hard work.

xh90 has made a point of proudly announcing that he uses a cracked copy of Live on multiple occasions- and is now encouraging others to do so.

I get the whole "try before you buy argument", and also the whole "dude I'm broke as fuck argument" (which I am, but I still buy Live upgrades...) If I was the abes I'd much rather have people not stealing from me, period.

Live is not *that* expensive of a soft, compared to Photoshop or many many other professional softwares.

Anyway, if someone's too broke to buy the program and uses a crack, I'm not gonna shit on him for it. But if he comes on the Ableton forum boasting about it, he obviously has no manners, and I'm gonna boot him in the ass like he deserves.

Now *that* is a fair point my friend.

I think cracked software is a good gateway drug.

I had loads of cracked stuff back in the day, I was skint and didn't have the money to buy the software.

As I got more money I bought more of the software, now I have everything legit, spend a lot of money on Audio in one way or another.

I think it's funny that people get so emotional about it. The abes aren't too bothered, they from what Robert posted feel this isn't an uncommon way in.

Eventually you have the money, get sick of an unstable system and start buying everything legit,

It's not really even worth getting het up about. ABleton has go a pretty copyprotection system and IIRC the cracks force you into uying the software anyway. . .
