Can i use the Live 4 upgrade..

on my desktop/studio machine and laptop for live as before? I'm assuming the license works just as the Live 3 serial number worked, that i can install on my 2 machines..

Ableton seems quite reasonable about licensing issues, IMO. Try the FAQ link below, then click the "License Questions" link near the bottom left of that page.

The FAQ item concerning this hasn't changed, so I suppose the answer is "Yes, you can still install on two machines as long as you only run it on one at a time. For more, or to install on both Windows and Mac, you must buy an extra license."
