I realised that the username I had chosen was too long and was stealing those precious characters from people.
of course, someone had plain old "angstrom" so I shortened it to the cheesy-l337-tastic

I haven't become a follower of everybody posting here yet, but already it's becoming as useless as the myspace bulletin board, a few funny or interesting posts but more than enough pointless "the sun rises in the east/I go to bed when I'm tired" type posts. Is there a way to filter this thing? How the hell do you find this useful when you're following more than a handful of people?

You're all on my twitter probation list. You have a week to amuse me or you're done! I expect the same in return. So much presure.

There's always a filtering process that goes on with my Following list. Someone spamming your Twitter with too many useless updates? Just stop following them. You'll get it whittled down to a core group of people who provide useful information. That's when the service really begain to shine for me.

Very true. I think twitter falls under "just because you can doesn't mean you should" and I guess it's like the crate diving of online human interaction.

My twitter is http://twitter.com/utenzil

like most things, i sign up to make sure that i have the name I want, and then barely use it. I average one twit a year (yes, I know for you they are tweets, but for me they are twits).
UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.

wow, one a year...that must be some profound shit (no pressure)

also, let me add to the lexicon...

twitter = social farting
to twit = to make a single fart
a twit = an idiot (just needed to be said)
to twat = to follow someone on the aforementioned social fart machine

Twitter rocks actually... both entertaining and educational (if you follow smart people).
