I went metal cube b/c I am not a fan of whimsy/nonsense in names but it seems like the one you like best.

sabotaging the thread but I would always choose names that make a promoter go "hey that will stand out on a poster"
all these options you suggest would just blend right in for me.

I'd go for stuff that either causes controversy or at least gets the blood pumping

the Naked DJ

all that shit looks great on a poster. which means bookings. call me captain cheese-meister, but if you want to cut into a crowded scene you may as well appeal to the bookers!

I know of one famous name who got booked solidly on the 90's circuit purely because his name fit the type of punters the night was aiming to draw in and it looked cool on everyone's poster. He could spin a record too, but that wasn't even secondary.

BTW - on the importance of a name
the sole reason I chose 'Angstrom' is because it's near the beginning of the alphabet.

secondly - always appeal to teh laydeez. Do not attempt to appeal to horrible men, you will be looking at these people gyrating badly in their ill-fitting promotional t-shirts. these people will come up to you after the gig and say how you A: changed their life, B: are the best! C: wanna come to a party.

Do you want these people to be
A: men in illfitting yet sweaty promotional T's
B: women in tightly fitting sweaty clubwear

That is a good point on the appeal factor. I think the thing with Mint Invader its just my letters in my name re ranged. If anyone's got any sex appeal names with the same letters let me hear em.
