midi drum loop preview browser default kit

What is the default kit used for previewing MIDI drum loops in the Browser? How can I change it?

Right now, when I preview a MIDI drum loop with no instrument assigned, it plays back on an electronic kit. I'd like to have it play back on a regular drum kit.

This is for previewing MIDI drum loops before I decide what instrument or kit I want to use in Session or Arranger view.

Thanks!

Sorry, but that's the default tones that Live uses to play midi files from the browser. Not sure if this is improved in v.8 but as of now there's nothing you can do about it. It *should* be that midi files can be previewed from the browser through a selected midi instrument track...

Thanks for your reply. :)

Does anyone have a preferred way to audition MIDI drum loops?

I'm using some Groove Monkey loops, and to make them work in Live I need to use the translator tool in a Live drum track, then drag the loops in one at a time to hear them. This can't be the most efficient way, can it?

I suppose I could use DrumCore or Sonar/P5 to preview the loops, then drag them into Live (or find them in Live's browser).

Thanks for any suggestions.
