1) Ableton Live CPU Meter % (if it bounces around, please list the peak) : 55%
2) Laptop/Desktop? Make/Model? Apple Macbook Pro C (2007)
3) Operating System? OSX 10.5.8
4) Ableton Live version? 8.1.3
5) CPU Make, Model, and Speed? Intel ore2Duo 2.4
6) Amount of Ram? 4gb
7) Soundcard (and driver version if you know it)? Native audio
8) Hard Disk Drive Speed (if you know)? 5400rpm (WD Scorpio Blue 500gb)
9) Number of playback tracks? 8

I'd love to see a test from someone running an i7 Macbook pro with 8gb RAM to see if the RAM increase makes a big difference.

ALSO, does a difference in performance from 33 to 55% mean that the computer with the 55% score is 60% as fast as the computer with the 33% score? What are we measuring here?

^ very pro indeed! congrats on overpaying for a laptop with 2 year old CPU! imagine what you could've got for $1200 had you gone with a PC laptop instead.

Just got a new setup, had some curious results...

1) Ableton Live CPU Meter: 19%
2) Computer type/model: custom PC
3) Operating System: Windows 7 (x64)
4) Ableton Live version: 8.0.8
5) CPU Make, Model, and Speed: Core i7-860
6) Amount of Ram: 4GB 1600mHz
7) Soundcard: RME HDSP 9652 (latest driver)
8) Hard Disk Drive Speed: 7200
9) Number of playback tracks: 8

I tried it at lower sample rates just for kicks, and the last one is where it gets interesting:
@ 256: 21%
@ 128: 26%
@ 64: 36%
@ 32: 32%

So I can't figure out how it went DOWN for the lowest setting on my card; granted, a good problem to have, unless there's something I'm missing...

Haven't had the urge to go to 8.1.3 yet because of the incompatible files, but if I make the leap I'll post the results.

To: McQ714 (sorry, i'm french and i don't speak english very nice...)
