This is for the first Live 9 beta, 32-bit version, released 31. October 2012.

So with the same machine, I had 29-30% for Live 8.3 with 5400RPM HD, then 23-24% with Crucial M4 SSD, and now 19-20% with Live 9 beta and Crucial M4 SSD. Not bad.

1 ) Ableton Live CPU Meter % - 19-20%
2 ) Laptop/Desktop? Make/Model? - MacBook Pro 13" 2.9GHz 2012 model
3 ) Operating System? - Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.2)
4 ) Ableton Live version? Live 9 (first beta!)
5 ) CPU Make, Model, and Speed? - 2.9 GHz i7 with Turbo Boost
6 ) Amount of Ram? - 8GB DDR3
7 ) Soundcard (and driver version if you know it)? - RME Babyface driver v1.76
8 ) Hard Disk Drive Speed (if you know)? Crucial M4 512GB SSD
9 ) Number of playback tracks? 8

How about the 64bit version... are you going to run tests on it?

Yup, I'll get to it - busy with the 32-bit version ATM.
Don't have high hopes for increased performance on the 64-bit, though, but we'll see.

How is it on the internal card. I have almost same model, late 2011, 16Gb RAM and I wonder how the better performance of your is due to Duet 2 and how much due to SSD. I plan to replace DVD drive with SSD, but that serious performance difference could make me buy Duet 2.

The cool thing about techno still, comparing it to most jazz is the improvisation coupled with raw energy.

1) Ableton Live CPU Meter 13%
2) Laptop/Desktop? Make/Model? Mac Pro
3) Operating System? 10.6.8
4) Ableton Live version? 9.B50
5) CPU Make, Model, and Speed? Xeon Hexacore 3.33 Ghz

Also with buffer at 256 it was only 14%

This compares nicely to 15-18% with Live 8.

Also, in Live 8 the CPU meter bounced a lot. In 9 it's rock steady.
