Live 8: Window focus behaviour corrected. Thank you!
I really enjoy the new features and enhancements that Live 8 offers, and think the Abletons have done a fantastic job!
One thing though is absolutely counterproductive: The new window focus behaviour. As soon as you have clicked anywhere in a plugin's window, you can not control anything in Live's main window by the computer-keyboard anymore, not even play/stop with the spacebar.
Please, as soon as possible, give us a preference to disable this behavior.
It's a real workflow killer!
EDIT: Subject line changed after v8.0.4 came out.

Re: Live 8: Window focus behaviour needs to be changed!
Like mentioned in a beta thread, it's most probably not a bug, but the new window management system, that allows keyboard control of plugins now. As people already mentioned, that this is counterproductive in many cases, I was hoping they would fix/change it for the final release. Obviously they have not.beats me wrote:^ but this does sound like a bug, not a feature request.

1. you think you're the only one with a job? piss off. I'm putting in 50-60 hour weeks, I've got RSI, 7.5 weeks of vacation saved up and I can't find time to get a day off. I love this argument, you didn't have time to beta test but Live 8 is released and you're on it right away, total bullshit excuse. it doesn't add up.dr.wackler wrote:1. 2. that's not what I'm talking about.
3. your whole thread is bitching and it's in the wrong forum. it's not you man, it's the plethora of whiny little bitches that didn't beta test and are wondering why 8.01 isn't working for them. look around, you'll see.

This isn't the case for me. It works the way it always has.dr.wackler wrote:I really enjoy the new features and enhancements that Live 8 offers, and think the Abletons have done a fantastic job!

Mac, AU plugins. It's not the case with all plugins, most probably only with those that are laid out for accepting keyboard input, for example Stylus RMX, Omnisphere, Addictive Drums, most Audiodamage plugins, and many more.4ace wrote:This isn't the case for me. Try using the browsers in RMX or Omnisphere to search for a sound. A process, where it's not uncommon to hit the spacebar for start/stop each time you've selected a new sound, so that you can hear a certain clip/sequence from the start.
No problem with Live 7, but with Live 8 you have to click into the main window every time you've selected another sound, just to be able to use the spacebar for starting/stopping playback. Absolutely counterproductive.
