Juno 106 note off midi message cuts off samples

Post by joshuarule » Thu Apr 23, 2009 8:06 am

Hi,

I am trying to use my Juno106 as a hardware synth and a midi controller for a live setup.

However the Juno sends note off messages that cut off any sample I am trying to trigger through ableton. Very much like a gate as soon as I release the key.

Wondering if there are any clever ways to get around this?

The only thing I was thinking that I could run it through another controller like my Novation Remote 37? Or if there is a utility that can effect that midi coming in.

Thanks
Josh

Change the sustain release envelope settings of your sample.

Unfortunately, the Juno-106 midi implementation is like the worst ever. Whenever you release all keys, it sends an "all notes off" message.

So, don't use it as a controller unless you absolutely have to.
