Octave up effect is a little simplier then octave down effect, it might help.

Octave up is done through "full-wave rectification" which is passive components
without any chips but just diodes and a transformer. It might be smooth enough...
maybe......

Frankly I'd be prepared to be disappointed. Why complicate the signal? Accurate pitch-tracking needs as clean and stable a signal as it can get.

Did you try any pitch-MIDI VSTs? Many are free, and I can't see how they would be much worse than the Sonuus.

i've tried some tests with the synodeia and synodeia2 plugin, but can't manage route it right. it is supposed to send midi out in order to control another sound device but it only has an audio out :?
anyone has already used it?

On an MIDI track you can select the input as being the output of a VST on another track.

Track 1.
Audio with VST which has MIDI out

Track 2.
Midi track which has Track 1 - VST "foobar" selected as input.

hmm the download link didn't work for me.... Will try again after work...

Notes coming up in that lil midi monitor window it's got?

Once you select the track as the MIDI source for another track, the
dropdown under it should give the VSTs by name which have MIDI out.
Unless they haven't followed the spec right and Live doesn't know
about their MIDI out.
