bring back old warp mode

Post by orgul » Wed May 06, 2009 10:41 am

I have a really hard time with the new warp modus in live 8. I find it much harder to gett loops right. the indicated transient points are just not always right.

why not make it possible to move the warp marker from left to right to manualy find the right spot, like in live 7?

Live 8's warping makes more sense. Stretching audio to fit a measure of music is so much more logical than stretching a measure to fit a sample of music.

I prefer the new mode.
the old one was OK, but I still remember the first few days warping with Live 4 (the old way) and thinking "whoa this is weird .. it's all backwards". I mean, the old warp method showed the bar length being altered, but in fact what you heard was a constant bar length and the audio being altered.
Of course, I got used to it after time and eventually it became transparent to me, despite it being backwards.

The new one offers all the old functions and more, plus it actually makes sense now!

plus 1 for the new warp. it's butter to me and I absolutely love it. for what I use it for, it seems incredibly easy. I started Live with 7 tho, and never got too far into the old warp. It seemed backwards to me as well.

If you like the old warp mode, then just load up your old version of 7. Then return to 8 when you are finished.
