To those of you who told me to buy a Mac

Post by bodhi71 » Sat May 09, 2009 6:21 pm

Thanks!
It has been a couple of weeks now since I bought my MBP17", and I am LOVING it!
I seriously thought that by the end of the first weekend, I would have returned it, didn't like the price at all.
But everything about this machine is absolutely stunning.Everything.
I used to dread recording on my old computer. A few tracks and one or two plug ins and Live would come to a screeching halt.
So, the only thing I fear now is playing out and dropping it or some stupid thing like that. 8O

I'm afraid that's not what makes Macs special: there are just as powerful PC-laptops. Besides, in case you don't design your sets to be sensible, your MBP will "come to a screeching halt" as well. What makes Macs special is that you don't have to hassle.
MBP OSX 10.6.8, Live 8.4, MFII, Evolver, Monomachine, Octatrack, APC40, Launchpad

not saying they can't break... they do, but mine is bent like a banana... dropped badly onto a stone floor after i had it for a month.

working ever since including the dvd drive and a heavy beer spill from a drunken punter it survived also, that much to macs.

happy you like it, and don't forget to still care for it, i was just lucky i guess. and wait until you really discover the depth of OSX :D

I think that over the lifetime of the computer you actually save money. Its just that the cost is on the front end. But that is just my opinion.

Just found out you don't have to defrag these things...

I'm sure there are PC laptops just as powerful, but who cares, I never found window platforms enjoyable. Always seemed to get wonky after a while no matter how much attention I invested in em'.

Where do I get my apple stickers? Are they in my box? Checking checking... Alright!
Man it just keeps getting better and better! LOL Now where to put them...

Perhaps you are correct. Over time I became to feel more loathsome towards PC's.
I must have had a lot of shit spec PC's. Didn't want to build one, just one more thing that would have redirected my energies away from creating music.
Didn't trust Vista, Xp was becoming too limited IMO, what I wanted was a machine that works the way a MAC does.

Either way, I cannot fathom owning another PC.

And JAMM, stop dropping you're MAC man!
You don't want to end up with a PC again do you? LOL
