8O 8O 8O 8)

Crivens!

Point, click and drag over a high resolution time-frequency display of your song to tell the app what sound you are interested in and the pattern tracker identifies and tracks all compnents that belong to that sound. A real time preview then plays back the sound that the pattern track has identified.

Spectral editing for the remixing generation, heavy on CPU but Jebus, you can strip out individual tracks, stems and instruments from stereo files!

Stunned to say the least....

Yeah, they're gonna make you pay but it does spell the end for dodgy 'pay as you go' remix competitions and waiting for lazy ass producers/lables to send you stems...

Oh god...there'll be even more remixes now won't there.

Rave? Where are you? no more remix comps! :D

1-2gb per every minute of audio!

Shit this program needs a fast computer. But holy shit how cool it is.

Going to be funny to see the melodyne vs sonicWORX even though they are a bit diffrent..

Did someone, like, discover the God Particle of DSP recently...? What's lead to these recently trumpeted advances in alleged* audio black magic?

*alleged because these things haven't seen the light of day yet.

stripping a track to componant parts for live version of any track i doubt.

you will no doubt lose out quality when mixing it back together. this is designed for studios to help with mastering no doubt.

but sampling a hook hidden in a track.. yeh haa. Im all for that.

end of remix comps?... no way. these comps are a ray of hope for many. economics says "if people keep demanding, companies will keep suplying."

I cant wait until the next fatboy slim gets a killer hit and has to pay all the profit to who ever he/she nicked the sample from. then gets the FBI on his ass for ripping off the software he stole to do it.

Doesn't help stripping out the xylophone solo though... :D

Meh, we'll see how it pans out, it'll either be great and worth the money or shite and die a death.

Somehow though i think it will be niiiiiiiice.

OMG! This is insane. Can you imagine what technology like this will do for the old noise fingerprint restoration software? Perfect LP recording.

well, i wasn't overly impressed by the end result shown in the video.
In any case if you really need something that does similar work, take a look at this
http://www.elevayta.net/product13.htm - its less than US $30
comes with a demo version too.

It's strange everyone seems split on it. But like I say lets see what happens, i still think its going to be sweet but I wont be buying it for that money anyway!

I'm not sure you can compare a $30 piece of software with what this promises to deliver. (having not seen the vids I can't really comment yet)

Don't get me wrong. I adore every bit of its design and thought. But for that amount i was expecting much more than what I heard. That's all. A great direction to go to - technology wise.
Of course you can't compare the two. But for those who haven't got Macs and need some feature extraction out of audio, I don't think they have many options. This is one of them.
