Still need to clean up the spiderweb of cables, and get something to raise the back of the modules so they are angled, but this is my new work area.
Better pictures soon after I do the finishing touches.
Will also include pictures of my sexy dog then as well.

My studio is just too dark most of the time I fear, never liked a really bright studio.oblique strategies wrote:Maybe try plants that just live in air?Tarekith wrote:Wish I could keep plants alive in my studio, even low light ones never seem to do well...

I JUST got it on Monday, and have only spent 30 minutes or so with it.re.mark wrote:How do you find the Gaia? Im tempted by one... It sound good? Whats it best at?
It's a very straightforward virtual analog synth that has great a great, full sound.
I like how simple/straightforward the layout is for programming, my goal is to get better at designing my own sounds and I think the simplicity will help me.
Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
played a bit with it at MusikMesse Frankfurt/Germany this year and had a nice talk with the guy from Roland about it. Its a really nice synth and you'll have a lot of fun with it!!!!contakt321 wrote:I JUST got it on Monday, and have only spent 30 minutes or so with it.re.mark wrote:How do you find the Gaia? re.mark, you're a manc ain't ya? They've got one in Dawson's on Portland Street that they'll let you play with, I had a right rave with it on my lunchtime the other day; it sounds pretty sweet, kind of like a slightly fatter version of Sylenth1 with a rather nice supersaw waveform.
My only complaint would be the lack of flexibility in the LFO patching, and the apparent lack of ability to share the LFOs between ocsillators, but the fact that you can patch it to 3 places at once with seperate faders is quite cool. Oh, and no chorus
Some stuff, and some other stuff. Honest.

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
^^ So you just velcro the pedals to a board right?
I've seen one with a power strip and mini patch buy built right on to the board, all of it fit into it's own bag with the pedals still on it

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
The list!
2007 Mac Pro Quad, 2.66ghz, 8gb ram, Profire 2626 (My Protools rig)
Early 2010 Macbook Pro, Core 2 Duo 2.66. Profire 610, APC40, PadKontrol, and [not pictured] iPad with TouchOSC (Ableton rig)
Moog Little Phatty SEII
Orange Dual Terror
Mesa/Boogie Roadster 2x12 closed back
Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Super Sport
Monitors - M-Audio BX8a (god these are like 6 years old now. I should have moved on to Genelec's or Adams by now.... but they're still holding out fine!)
oh... and theres a little Rode NTK in there
Pedalboard:
EHX HOG, Boss TU2, Skreddy Lunar Module, Skreddy Screw Driver, EBS Multicomp, Moog MF101, Fulltone FullDrive 2, Skreddy Echo, Line6 M9, & this1smyne Mini Solo Booster.
@Tarekith - Thank you, shes my pride and joy
@outershpongolia - Yeah, just got a ton of industrial strength velcro, slapped the hook side on a Pedal Train Pro (awesome pedalboards with great cases!).
@Homebelly - The M9 is awesome. I had somewhere around $1000 worth of pedals leave that board because I got it. The modulation is great, delays, reverbs and filters are all awesome. I was actually quite pleasantly suprised by the drives as well - however for overdrive distortion and fuzz, its all about analog As for power, I have a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power II+ underneath (pedaltrains come with mounting brackets for these power supplies, another plus!), with a small power strip coming off out of its courtesy outlet for the wall-warts (M9, Hog, and MF101 - soon replacing the mf101 supply)

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
Here are some pics of my setup and new desk. My wife and I live in a studio in NYC and I had to come up with a solution where I had access to all of my gear but she didn't have to look at it all day. Why doesn't she think gear looks as cool as we do???? Here is my solution, I put all of the gear on sliding shelves so it can pull out for easy use.
Gear List -
Mac Book Pro
Monitors - Yamaha MSP5A
Maschine
Dave Smith - MoPho Keyboard
Motu Ultralight
LaunchPad, NanoKontrol , M-Audio X-session Pro
Electro Harmonix - Memory Boy & Big Muff (currently not connected)
