OK here is my Space Cave mk4 from late last year.

Yes, I love my hardware synths!

Yes, those are a pair of big RGB 1.4W full colour analogue modulated lasers in the corners.
Out of the shot is my DJ rig (pair of 1200s, Traktor Z2/S4/X1/F1)

I'm assembling the new Space Cave mk5 at the moment which of course has a Push located front-and-center!
;)

Far out! Where is this place? I'm coming around just to drool! :D

I must say these days I extend my envy to the more minimal setups.

mac + push + a virus..... in a very nice room with good audio treatment and a nice view.

Like the one Tarekith posted a while back.

I can see myself making music in such a place. Too many synths and cables ... I dunno. I would just get lost.

Personal taste, I know.

I was about to say you should be making some awesome music with all that gear then noticed your name, I'm assuming you're the guy responsible for Do what you want? Mighty fine music sir!

Guilty as charged - I don't bother hiding behind some screen-name. Glad you liked Do What U Want!
;)

I recently adopted the approach of setting up a separate renegade studio in my garage where the focus was on simplicity. Just my MBP, Apollo, MiniBrute, MS20 Mini, Push, Maschine and Sequential Pro One. Less is definitely more (IDEAS are the most important thing in the studio - more gear is just a hindrance).

I've been collecting space-junk since the late 80s as a kid and have always regretted selling things (to name a few sadly missed pieces: Roland R8 / Juno 6 / Juno 106) so the set up has evolved out of 20+ years of gear lust and a by-product of my day job.

I've missed having access to my full arsenal of synths in the renegade garage studio and now I'm the moving entire studio in there. The lounge room set up fails since it is missing two walls which means I get distracted and self concious that I'm annoying my poor housemates (producer/DJ + his Bass-loving girlfriend) when I have elements on loop for hours while I tweak or working on factory synth voicing projects. They never complain but I'm sure they're just being polite! The less I have to distract me the better.

Plus, I like to stay up *really* late and chain smoke while I write - the garage is good for this. Also, I can't really work on new laser show content in the lounge studio as (no surprize) I can't really run the hazer in the house out of consideration to my housies!

I did unfortunately get a nasty-but-nice letter from the old lady who lives next door after testing the sonic limits of my garage whilst being drunk and working on a pop vocal project recently. Ooops! I'll post it here since it's pretty amusing ; )

I'm all about making best use of vertical space.
; )

The garage space I've moved it into, although having the joy of having exposed overhead beams to bolt lasers and lighting gear and treatments into, is smaller so the two 12U racks of gear have now migrated into a single tall 30U rack. Considering buying slat wall panels so that I can exceed having only 4 tiers of keyboards ...

Once Live 9 allows scaling across multiple Push units (to emulate the functionality of my MCU-Pro plus MC-EXt modules) I may retire the MCU-Pro rig although I will miss having motorised faders! Visitors to the studio always love watching motorised faders ...

they sound fantastic, but they start to distort a little bit too early for my preference (when you push the volume)
