@Lucien - nice. Looks like a nice working space.
Though, is it time that this thread is renamed again? Post your set up and your sexy skull...

^ more to the point, put some foam under those monitors!! there's no way you can get clean bass from monitors sitting on floppy stands that are sitting on a thin piece of wooden desktop.
try it, hth.
try it, hth.

Foam wouldn't do anything for the reflection from the window but Tone is right about the desk. Do you have a hard time getting your mixes to translate Lucien?

I meant foam under the monitors.tlennon wrote:Foam wouldn't do anything for the reflection from the window but Tone is right about the desk. Do you have a hard time getting your mixes to translate Lucien?
you either want your monitors to be sitting on a heavy rock solid surface or completely floating in space. a rock solid surface is more bass, you might have to mellow the bass control. floating is less bass, just turn up the bass. anything in between is the floppy stands doing unpredictable things to your frequency response. you want the effect of the mounting to be 100% or 0%.

But it relates directly to the image posted.. instead of "which sub should I get" "get this one" "no get these monitors and no sub"Tone Deft wrote:I meant foam under the monitors.tlennon wrote:Foam wouldn't do anything for the reflection from the window but Tone is right about the desk. At least you're not quoting with the damn pictures every time you chime in with a few words.
