So I'm guessing that you find this a bit much?

As much as I can appreciate all that gear, that's the oppposite of a sexy studio to me. I hate clutter.

This more to your liking, as far as gear clutter goes?

In my experience, almost all powered monitors have some hiss. Even my $3k Opals have it a tiny bit if you get real close to them.

Well, my Genelecs 8020a were dead silent. But they were 4" as opposed to 8" Yamahas, so maybe that's where it is

For some reason this is one of my fav setups in this thread.Hand selected tools that each make a lot of sense on their own and everything looks clean.Perfect.All you need really.

Mmm... I think you're on to something here. Maybe we need a separate thread about studio ergonomics?

This looks nice, but maybe the extra distance added by the computer keyboard and trackpad make the keyboard playing not so nice as it could be. Was thinking that when playing the keyboard, I don't necessarily need to be in the perfect monitoring position, so a perfectly placed keyboard could be off to the side (or at an angle to the main screen and monitors. Then add more mixing controls in that central position... hmmm...

Thank you all for the kind words.

I agree with you. Playability was a little hard. For the same reason, I have since substituted the iMac for a Macbook Pro laptop. It now rests on a stand where the iMac stands, and I can move my keyboard to the front of the desk, making for much better playability :)

Just sanded the top off the pots and glued dowel cut to length and painted black. The round coloured tops are vinyl stickers from craft shop. Use them to colour code all my kit so I know where I am.
