The basement flooded, we had to do some remodeling. so we replaced the carpet with floated hardwood floors. To our surprise, it turned out 'naturally neutral'. The combination of the hanging ceiling tiles, porous walls / corkboard and asymetrical boundaries creates a very pleasant room to mix in. For our discerning clients, we will move the speakers even further away from the wall, bringing the setup closer to a 32% / 68% implementation.

One other note, an extra foot of height was added to the original house plans, which seems to keep it feeling like an actual basement.
