Is Ableton Killing your Transients? It's killing mine...
Re: Is Ableton Killing your Transients? It's killing mine...
Thanks for your explanation. I do hope that Abloton finds another way to suppress that possible click/pop. Maybe just apply it to vsti's and not wav tracks..
For clarification, am i correct to asume that in Live 7 there isn't a the fade when playback starts?

No, you are not correct in that assumption. There is exactly the same emergency fade at playback start in Live 7 as in Live 8.
Concerning your suggestion: the problem is with audio files, not plugins. A plugin can't start a note "in the middle", it will always play a note ON, or nothing, on playback start.
An audio file though, may be started "in the middle of the clip". thus where the waveform is not at a 0 crossing, and then produce a loud or less loud pop on playback start.

Dont cut them so close. Give the transients room to breathe. There is sound before the transient in most cases, which adds to the impact of the drum hit.

the sooner this is fixed the better...
because this bug really keeps you on your toes...
I actually can't use 8.0.3... because something's up with the GUI...
(reported)
when's 8.0.4 ?

it's a good find but seriously... take a step back and look at the response.

"don't ever..." I read that as "keep doing it..."
I'm reading some of the new posts from people with this 'same problem' and it's a tangled web, can you help address some of the concerns? it's my Libra nature to do siht like this, or so I've been told.

cool sig though...

Okay... bump
Did 8.0.4 fix this bug? I understand it to be that there is fade application on rendered wavs that did not have a fade enabled.
I'm also seeing what I think is a bug with opening version 7 files in 8.0.4 and having the short auto fade automatically applied to ALL audio clips! I do of course have the fade preference off.
I can reset all the envelopes to fix it, as it's a non destructive fade (unless you render it of course), but it seems like big oversight..?
Amaury perhaps you can shed some light? Should I submit a report?

The bug that printed unwanted fades in consolidated and rendered files is indeed fixed in 8.0.4. From what you describe, I guess that the files you open in Live, or Live set, have been saved with the Fade button ON, in Live 7, which translates in a short fade when opened in Live 8. Wouldn't it be the case? Weren't the files in question used in Live 7?
