Question: Ableton 8 remembers Virus TI Patches

Post by x0x » Sun May 24, 2009 10:25 pm

I have Live 8 and a Virus Snow with OS3. Everything is great, except that Ableton sometimes remembers the patch data for the snow and replaces the patch I am using with one I had previously used. It just automatically replaces the patch.

Any ideas as to whether this is Ableton or the Virus OS; or better yet ... how to turn this off? It only happens when I use the Snow in Live via USB.

I haven't found that with my TI and OS3... are you on a Mac?

No, Live 8 is on an HP notebook running XP.

For instance, I'll set Bank 1 to use RAM1 4-5, and lets say that patch is named MorphingPad1.

Occasionally when I hit play, something changes that patch to a completely different patch, like Lead1. What is interesting is that it will still show that it is using RAM1 4-5, but with a different patch name. If I change it to RAM1 4-4 and then back to RAM1 4-5, it will momentarily display and play the correct patch (MorphingPad1), but will revert to the other patch (Lead1). I have to reboot to fix this. I usually get about an hour out of live before this starts to happen. I reboot, get another hour.

Any Ideas? If I can figure out how to turn off this patch recall/memory feature which I think is in Live, I'll be set.
