...at Thomann Music Shop in Germany. They just told me Akai has dropped the date 29.05. New delivery is 29.06. Can anybody confirm this or is Thomann lying...?
S***...

Yes, i checked that too. Maybe Thomann is lying because they don't want to loose customers who preordered the apc, but are not supplied now. Maybe there first stock is sold out...?!

I was told by a local store that they actually have the units (with one reserved for me), but they cannot release them until Saturday. (May 30).

Digital Village in the UK has been stating for a while that they would be holding an APC40 launch event on the 30th May.
The link was stating the following:-
"All DV branches and our central warehouse (the DV Retail Warehouse) will receive APC40 stock in time for this worldwide launch so from Saturday 30th May, all APC40 customer back-orders can be shipped and anyone wishing to get their hands on this Ableton controller can pick up from any DV location from this date."
However, since today the link now doesn't work and when I made an order at their online store I received the following response:-
"We are sorry to advise you that your order for an Akai APC40 Ableton Control Surface has been further delayed, and unfortunately the best information from our supplier is that we will receive this item in the beginning of June."
I'm hoping that "beginning of June" = 1st of June!!

I got a similar notice from Musicians Friend, it appears that they don't quite grasp this whole "preordering" system that is created to actually avoid this.
If Akai doesn't have enough units on hand to fill initial orders, it would make sense that it would take 30 days to get another batch as my guess is they are made in China, and 4 weeks is the standard shipping time from China to the West.

I was so excited... I got home still the APC has not arrived... Fed Ex had the delivery date set for today but its running late and now the truck has arrived in my state but the date says tomorrow... Oh yea preordered through Sweetwater.. again those guys are quite professional and take care of the customers.. They had the units in and my sales guy thought that they wouldn't be able to ship them till the 30th and all of sudden on the 25th I got an email stating its on its way....

My friendly (and I mean, a friend) salesman at the local Guitar Center says they have three, and won't sell them until June 1. With a little luck, he'll be able to save one for me. But, my hopes are not that high. I am prepared to be disappointed for another month or so.

...meanwhile at Thomann the availability is set back to 2-5 days. This chaos pisses me off, really.
