Thinking of changing my Dynaudio BM6A's for something else..
Thinking of changing my Dynaudio BM6A's for something else..
Maybe I'm crazy... maybe my ADD is affecting my ability to hold on to gear for too long... but lately I've been feeling a little "meh" about my BM6A's. Thinking I need a change.
Maybe some ADAMs? Maybe something else?
Tell me... am I crazy? Am I just bored?
Or would it not be such a bad idea?
E-slap some sense into me.

Well, if it's not broken, don't try to fix it... but if you feel like you need change... love the Adam A7s... as well as the Dynaudio BM8A... or Yamaha HS80M... Emes are nice too. If you have the $$$ give Klein & Hummel a shot.
But I'd say it's a good thing you're feeling "meh" about them, since they're not designed to make you go "WOW".

Lol
Was just looking at some bm5a or 6amkII to replace my Makie HR824 (borrowed for last year and due back at buddies studio any day now)..
IMHO - Pick up the cheapest monitors that you can find.. and use those for 3 days... Then prepare to apologize to those 6a's like a jilted gf. Might be cheapest option to 'change it up' and still have good gear next week.

I would go for the Yamaha HS-80M I just love mine! They beat the most other monitors i heard
Bitwig/1.0.5 - Ableton/Live 8 - Apple/MacPro-2.8Ghz-8Core-RAID - Samsung/SM-P2770H 27" - Yamaha/HS80M/HS10W - Behringer/BCR/BCF - Allen & Heath/Xone:3D - Sennheiser/HD25-13 - Native Instruments/Komplete9/Traktor Pro

How is the build quality on those? Are they rock solid? Are they a bit warmer than the NS10 as well?

A pair of BM6A's are serious professional tools, you already own a pair of the best monitors on the planet in their class.

it an option.. ive got 6" too, but from genelecs. with a sub it helps a lot to spot the bass. 8" you might not need a sub, on the other hand. eighter get a sub, or upgrade to 8" id say..Sales Dude McBoob wrote:http://www.dynaudioacoustics.com/Default.asp?Id=2848

a subwoofer could be the ticket.
maybe it's the VSTs you're using these days? they don't sound as good as the Virus you sold. didn't you just recently change up your gear list?

still haven't sold the virus... having second thoughts about that.Tone Deft wrote:a subwoofer could be the ticket.

Maybe I just need to add a sub to my setup. I've been putting the BM6a's through the paces today and realized my original post made no sense. Truly a case of gear ADD.
A sub... and some temporary room treatment and I'm sure all will be fine.

subs are fun. highly recommend, esp when you wanna "rock out".
