Yes please. Option to get rid of "Clips" and replace it with plug ins. I would say eq like Pasha, but I don't like Ableton's effects and dynamic processing. Oh and, higher quality effects and dynamic processing. (atleast bundle Ableton with T-Racks or something cheap, native instruments guitar modeling, etc...)Pasha wrote:Here comes my turn.
I would like to have exposed channel EQ strips in the mixer view
like analog mixers do (a High, Mid, Low EQ control).
Of course the Ableton way, no useless graphic, alike Sends are.
Here's my proposal:
Ability to have a configurable free assignable area in the mixer (session view)
like it happens with sends when you add a return track,
so everybody can add there a number of internal mapping and
it can be possible to control an EQ that could reside in the track without
opening track content. It might be stretchable like the meters area or an option.
What do you think?

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?
Shit, I'm still rockin' version 6, and it's doin juuuuust fine.
Here's my list anyway:
-Tabbed sessions (only session, not arrangements)
-Automation (and automation recording) in all clips everywhere
-Native SysEx support
-Native NPRN support
-A wet/dry knob added to Utility (affects input)
-The ability to add more little directory bookmark circle things
-"3D" session view (allows you to select different takes of the same clip)
-Video in session view
-Normal handling of plugin presets
-CC naming
-Warping in simpler and sampler
-A plugin like the "external instrument", but you can add your own knobs and assign them CC.

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?
^^^ all of the above
Instrument Tuner
Preference lists for default disk locations to save reconfiguring when travelling light. E.g. first preference fast external drive, second preference lap top hard drive.
Support for "clock" time as well as "musical" time - even to the extent of "Play this clip at 0930 on 25th march 2010" - for installations and suchlike.
If a clip is recording in session view then any control changes that effect that track should be recorded into it's clip envelope.
Provide an option for session view clip envelopes either to act as they do now or to override the arrangement automation.

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?
- Phase reversal/switch on each channel
- Pan readout NEXT TO THE PAN POT (not in the lower left hand corner of the screen in the font size of "2".. wtf???)
- Ability to completely remove the session grid from a project (I'm Dreamin)
- Fades work in groups (as of now it only fades one clip no matter how many are in the group and selected at the time)
- Drag Multiple Audio Files in Arrangement view, each on a seperate track (as of now it drags them all on to one track, back-to-back.. wtf??)
- 64-Bit Application Support
- Dual Monitor Support
- Put "Master" and "No Input" at the TOP of the "Audio In" Dropdown Menu.. When you have MANY(60-80) tracks its a HUGE pain in the ass to have to go all the way down to the bottom of the list to select "No Input" or "Master"
- User Definable Keys (That would be nice!)
- More Metronome Options - Play Double Time - Accent Sound - When accent hits... etc
- Ability to Nudge Clips left & right by the grid value (Arrange View)
- More Marker Options
- Better Options & Features for Takes and Comping
- Comparisonic Waveforms
That should cover it for now.. im sure ill think of something else later.. Im always thinking of them when im deep in the zone working on something in Live. I got most of the key ones that have been bugging the crap out of me for awhile though..

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?
I'd like for there to be a popup window that displays a warning letting you know when you're getting dangerously close to producing an Electro track that's already been released on beatport.
Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?
features in ableton 10 so we could avoid another similar thread

-Tempo automation in session view!!! I saw a lot of the ability to record automation in sessions view This would be a major improvement.
-improve the crossfade in arrangement view the way any DAW uses it.
-A better reverb.

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?
most important for me:
- 2 monitor support and new conception of docking windows where user wants. Like there is tons of space under session/arranger veiw buttons. U can place custom buttons under two of this with a little space between them, that would be very cool. I would place there a window for notation, drum sequencer, custom views, huge detailed browser with customable id3 tags to show, only return tracks, ability to put custom m4l instruments there. Make that zone available to put user the stuff hi wants there. That will expand Live interface usability HUGE!
- customisable keyboard short-cuts for ANY possible key with profiles(look at photoshop for clue) plus ability to map on keyboard & midi - every vst plugin (so the that key will open\close such)
- fade between different tracks, batter fades, automation curves and etc etc - you should rework this part very strong - look at the best DAWs ideas, not just add one or two functions. Right now it suck big.
- 64 bit with ability to launch 32 bit plug-ins
- ability to preload set/ use multiple sets, like someone mentioned above - with tabs and shared plug-ins. So if the plug-in is already loaded it will use one instance from it's memory
- more return tracks
- STABILITY
Everyone who wants improved plug-ins - forget about them. At least let's put them into second priority line. There are always better 3-rd party plugs, plus M4l, which will solve that problem. Better Abes focus on the DAW functions and Live itself.
And please don't make another shitty 9'th release in 2010 just to rip off money. Polish this one, and go for 2011 to release 9th.

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?
I want Ableton to come out with their own Maschine type controller.
I want it to be called the 'A-Box' and have all of maschines functions
and more but done with Abletons way of doing things, I want it to integrate
completely with live but also be able to work away from the computer which maschine cannot do.
c'mon ableton You can do it lets take these suckas to the mattress.
