The City of Lost Children, Angelo Badalamenti. In fact, I feel anything Angelo writes is, and will, be gold.

You know David Lynch does his own sound design.....at least he did
in his earlier movies.

Intense, scarey shit.

You know what has a fricki' awesome soundtrack? "Into the Wild". Eddie Vedder did the whole soundtrack. It's a great album on it's own, but it's crazy how good it fits every scene in the movie so perfectly.

"Conan the Barbarian" by Basil Poledouris. Probably my personal favorite.

"Ravenous" by Michael Nyman and that dude from Blur. Another great soundtrack. And speaking of Nyman, his soundtrack for "The Piano" is great, too.

And even though the film wasn't the greatest, the soundtrack for "The 13th Warrior" by Jerry Goldsmith is excellent.

most of those have electronic instruments in them.

good call on Into The Wild. I watched that this weekend and at times really appreciated the sound track but didn't really tune into just it. this calls for another viewing.

Not entirely. Michael brook wrote the score and did the orchestration. Eddie Vedder wrote the songs,in other words, the ones that he sang--and a few of the gitter instrumentals.
