presonus drivers are ok but be cautious

Post by bosonHavoc » Wed Jul 01, 2009 12:14 am

alert it is a lie
the e mail is a lie
the drivers are not ready
do not update the firestudio drivers on os x
i knew better i did it anyway
they always do this
i always fall for it

here is the thread
http://forums.presonus.com/showthread.php?t=9008
i followed the instructions and but my firestudio will not sync up now.

edit...
the sync issue was from having my spidff connected to my motu.
when another audio interface is connected the firestudio clock want to be the boss and it wont do anything until it is in charge.
i usually resolve this by disconnecting my bnc cable or syncing the motu.
but it seems i need to disconnect the spidf and prolly the adats.
or of course syncing the motu or power down the motu

anyways thats all weird if you dont have wire and cables routing things all over your house just ignore me :)

"It's possible that it did not correctly overwrite the previous driver
files. Please disconnect your FireStudio and try doing a complete
removal of the drivers by following these instructions:

/Applications delete Universal Control and any prior Control
Panel apps (FireControl, FireStudio Control Console, StudioLive
Control Panel, etc)

/Library/Audio/Midi Drivers delete PaeFireStudioMIDIDriver.plugin

/Library/Application Support delete PreSonus Folder

/Library/Receipts delete any Presonus or Universal Control Receipts

/Library/Caches delete any PreSonus cache files

/System/Library/Extension delete PaeFireStudio.kext

This should remove all driver files from the system. Once this is
done, restart and verify that
/System/Library/Extension/PaeFireStudio.kext was successfully removed
and then reinstall the beta driver.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, please let me know.

Kind regards,
Wesley DeVore

i did all that and no go..
what a crock lol
funny thing is i got the e-mail about the release of the new drivers at close of business day so i can't get any support and my firestudio is usless now.
(i'd say good thing i have no show's this week but i would not have risked it if i did)

from here on out if any one catches me recommending any presonus product shoot me.
this is pathetic
