Funny thing is I've been a Mac guy since I bought my first comp ten years ago.

It was'nt too hard to do the math:

1. Impressed with a friends Windows 7 AND OSX86 build
2. Build cost me under $1k: Comparable Mac Pro would have easily cost me three times the price.
3. This machine will be dedicated to Live, nothing else. RME's HDSPe drivers already support Windows 7

I was a MS Hater but over time I just said WTF: I'm giving it a go. ;)
from one i7 owner to another...you gotta try out crysis the visuals on that game will blow out any console game in the market.

i7 + Windows 7 = unbeatable
Working with Intel, Microsoft implemented a new feature called SMT parking, which added support for the Windows 7 scheduler for Intel Hyper-threading Technology, enabling better performance on hyper-threaded, multi-core Intel processors. This will help users get the maximum benefit from multi-tasking. Also, Intel and Microsoft jointly analyzed the boot/shutdown/sleep/resume times on Intel platforms during the development of Windows 7 to identify opportunities to optimize Intel drivers and BIOS as well as Windows 7. Our mutual goal was to provide the most responsive compute experience possible. Another key part of the performance and responsiveness was our collaboration to optimize Intel Solid State Drive technology for Windows 7.

That was one of the first things I did! It's sweet, but I only got a 256 MB video card and it was a bit sluggish. With a 1 GB card or more I'm sure it would be blazing fast! Crysis 2 is on it's way out.....
