Lately Bass with Operator
Lately Bass with Operator
Howdy!
I think I've asked this before but I'm too lazy to 'search n' bump.' Has anyone been able to reproduce the TX81Z Lately Bass patch in Operator, or knows how to begin programing it? I lost my TX a while back. Or even, does anyone know of a free FM VST that may have a similar patch or that can load SysEx, or maybe there's a FXP file for it that can be downloaded?
Thanks in advance

Re: Lately Bass with Operator
its a classic yamaha fm synth ya spanner
rack version of the dx-11
5 seconds of google coulda saved ya from bein a div
answer to the OP is no, operator can't do EXACTLY what the TX81Z can do
i'd be surprised though if you couldn't program summat really similar with operator
if you're ok wi making sounds rather than just loading joey 80s patches

Spanner AND a div? You brits are so droll.
What's a div, other than an strict format HTML 4.01 tag of course?

Re: Lately Bass with Operator
I still have a TX81Z, so I could give you the settings for the voice data.
You'd have to tweak with your ears though, because (for example) the Operator
envelope release time goes from 1ms to 60s and the TX81Z just has a number (1-15).

Re: Lately Bass with Operator
I know what you're talking about and I think there used to be a preset called lately bass if there is a Live 4 compatability pack maybe it has it ?

I bet Oz has its fair share of "mingers" and "munters" too?timothyallan wrote:I learned "chav" the other day from my pommy friend. I use that one at lot now as well here
Also, never ask someone about their "space docking" habits.
Apologies for going off topic btw. Let's not derail it too much.
Re: Lately Bass with Operator
The preset is called 'Lately (Solid) Bass.adv'. It has to be from a LivePack in the Live 5 archive based on the file date. As suggested, Live 4 Compatibility pack is probably right: http://www.ableton.com/pages/downloads/ ... ks/archive
Re: Lately Bass with Operator
I just imported TX81Z01G.SYX in NI FM8 and found the Lately Bass. It's like Whigfield all over again Of course FM8 isn't free.
You can download all the SYX files here. http://www.burp.nl/dx/patches/tx81z.zip
I think the sound is available with the free http://www.oxesoft.com/ vst but I've never used it.

Where is the "Lately Bass" preset? I installed both Live 4 and 5 compatibility packs but I can find no file named like "lately".Nogi wrote:The preset is called 'Lately (Solid) Bass.adv'. Re: Lately Bass with Operator
I own a Yamaha TX81Z too, but I haven't used it in the last 15 years or so. I remember I used to like "Lately Bass", so I would like to use this sound with Operator. But I cannot find any preset named like "lately", even after I installed Live 4 and 5 compatibility packs. Where is the "Lately Bass" preset?
