Anyone using Vista 64 bit successfully
Apologies if this has been covered before (I assume it has), but I am tempted to go to Vista 64 and take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 7 in October.
Is anyone having a good/bad time with Live 8 and Vista 64 Ultimate? I appreciate you can't use much more RAM than on a 32 bit system at the moment, but just being able to access a full 4 GB and let some other programs access their own share of RAM would help me an awful lot.
But does it all work with Live 8?
I've checked all my VSTs and they're all cool so I'm just worries about Live 8 compatibility as I see it is warned against in the FAQs. If anyone has experience in this please do let me know.

Re: Anyone using Vista 64 bit successfully
works fine for me.. i've had maybe 4 or 5 crashes total between Live 7 Suite and Live 8 Suite since 2007. i have vista 64 ultimate slightly tweaked for audio apps. i've already ordered my upgrades to windows 7 for my studio computer and 2 laptops along with the home pc. i haven't decided if i'm going to install W7 ultimate or W7 pro on the studio daw yet. i've only ordered copies of pro and home premium so far as those had a huge discount about a month ago.

I'm currently in the process of installing Live on Vista 64 ultimate - do I install in the x86 program file?

Hi,
there are two program files in Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit - one for 32 bit and one for 64
is live 64 bit capable, if so, I can then install it in 'Program Files' if it's 32 bit then I must install it in 'Program files x86'
thoughts?
cheers

Live is only 32-bit at the moment. you should install it into a x86 program folder.

I'm a light user but haven't had any problems with Live 7 on Vista 64. I had Live 8 installed for awhile and didnt see any problems.saintsaviour wrote:Apologies if this has been covered before (I assume it has), but I am tempted to go to Vista 64 and take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 7 in October.

Guru is working too, inside and outside of Live and can Rewire to Reason 4.
