Numerology ? is super dificult to learn, and it cannt do what catanya does, and if it does, you dont get all the cool presets and easyness to use it.

we need a mac version of catanya !

+1000 this is exactly what I've been looking for and nothing quiet does the job on mac. The ability to try out patterned chord progressions without having to transpose the patterns again and again before you even know if the chord works. Why no mac?

I too long for a Mac version... But I've been creating some things in its place. Here's a chord extension and inversion rack I did, saves at least some of the work and a lot of trial and error chord wise. Then you can output the midi and move it around. It's no cantanya... But it's somethin.

Looking at 512 as well...

For mac users looking for an arpeggiator, Kirnu is pretty great, and free:

I'd say it's the best out there for mac. It gives more control than catanya in some ways, but doesn't have the huge pattern library of course.

As always, sorely missing in both is a simple note tie function that overlaps consecutive notes, allowing a glide when the instrument is set to mono legato. I do not understand why arp makers can't do this. I thought maybe kirnu would be able to do it since it has gate per step, but it just holds the current note and postpones the next note a while, allowing custom swing feels, but doesn't overlap the notes.

The windows version is ok for me and I am quite satisfied by the performance from this plugin. I knew about this plugin first from this forum and so thank you very much guys.

That's where the WARMTH comes from. Only a custom midi racks provide this unique sonic character.

1. I think the Numerology suggestion is a good one. With the AU version that you get when buy the full version you can run it as a plugin nowadays as well. Quick as Catanya? No. More flexible? Without a doubt.

2. I don't see the Kirnu, Catanya and Thesys comparison. Catanya is a pre-programmed chord sequencer. I don't understand how you would do that in Kirnu or Thesys. Educate me.

3. M4L can handle this task as well. I got halfway through making one in M4L and stopped because I am not happy implementing it in that small window. As soon as I get the external window programming down I'll finish it. But even in its visually rough form it worked. I'm sure one of the more seasoned M4L programmers could whip one out in a day or two if they wanted to.

I would gladly donate for a m4l clone. That would push me over the edge for m4l...

You're right about the other stuff, they are barely band aids.
