8) Considering buying a laptop.

Wanna use a keyboard with Live. What is a good (low latency) MIDI interface :?: :?: :?:

what you doing about sound card? you can get one that has one - the m-audio ozone is a good allrounder with a small keyboard, midi and audio...there's so many options these days

I'm running Windows XP Professional on my laptop and use the Steinberg USB-2-MIDI with M-Audio Midisport 2x2 drivers (since the interface hardware is the same) together with Roland PC-180 MIDI keyboard.

No MIDI latency problems so far.

Check out M-Audio MIDI interfaces

The oZone is a great MIDI controller, but it's mic pre sounds horrible. I'm not terribly wild about it's line outs either.

If you've got the cash I would recommend the firewire 410 - that's what I have and the latency is great and mic pres fine - it's a good solid interface
