Re: arrangement mixer??
no, just hit tab and use session as a mixer. you can change the volume in the arrange view too by the way (that "orange field").
Re: arrangement mixer??
If I'm not mistaken, all of the session view mixer controls appear in the arrangement view too... it's definitely a bit less user-friendly, but if you use it enough, it becomes pretty second nature like the session mixer
Re: arrangement mixer??
I hit tab a lot.
but, it would be great to have Session(and the mixer) on one screen and Arrangement on the other, that would really be a help.
I'm sure Ableton are aware of the idea, as it's a common suggestion. How they feel about it though, that's hard to guess.

Re: arrangement mixer??
does yours not have that huge red and green hovering arrow over it then?am wrote:the one thing i miss in arrangement is a solo button.
I wish I could turn that off.
Re: arrangement mixer??
It's not a big deal for me, except that there is no level metering in the arrangement view. That annoys me. Why is it not there? It's the only reason I have to go back to session view sometimes when mixing in arrangement view.

Do you not have the same meters the rest of us do then? Sure they're small (but you can expand them by expanding the track) but they're there!
Also TAB ftw!

jeezus! i just realized that when you press the "M" button, it toggles that off and on in arrange.
surely i knew that before, but since the update to 8, i've just missed it.
so, yes.. feeling a bit stupid now. thanks
Re: arrangement mixer??
don't worry, we all do it.
I've done some spectacular ones recently
Re: arrangement mixer??
omg thats well funny, i've never had the mixer switched on in arrange, doh!!! what a div
has been well annoying using arrange without the mixer

Re: arrangement mixer??
Back to the question at hand...I'm also finding the arrangement view mixing to be missing some visual affordances to help with the task. I was hoping that there was someway to pull in the session mixer or someone had created a plug-in that would give me all the control of a desktop mixer. Can't seem to find the right tool. So...
Once they release MaxForLive, I'm gonna make a arrangement mixer that can be dropped into the effects window. Anyone interested in collaborating on the feature set?

Sorry, I meant that there is no actual numeric readout - for example -0.5db. It seems odd to only have it in Session view.ollyb303 wrote:???Da hand wrote:It's not a big deal for me, except that there is no level metering in the arrangement view. That annoys me.
